Yes, maybe I am a geek

Let me preface this by saying I have never camped out for concert tickets or movie seats or new video game systems but I did get up at midnight to buy the new Harry Potter book.

I took the kids to a party at Destinations Booksellers (http://www.destinationsbooksellers.com/) We had a great time When we arrived we were each sorted into our houses:

Later we made wands, had some punch and took a test on our knowledge of Harry Potter.

And at midnight we went to Platform 9 3/4 and picked up our copy of Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows. Check back in a few days and I will let you know how it ends.
Good luck, Harry.

The Louisville Zoo

Since the kids were small I have always had a membership to the zoo. It is one of the most affordable things that you can get for your children. We have spent countless afternoons wondering the grounds looking at the animals waiting for them to do something new. They never seem to disappoint.

Each time we go Logan likes to get his picture taken on the same fire hydrant, a Nash family tradition that goes back for years.

Earlier this year One of the elephants gave birth to a baby, his name is Scotty.

A few years ago The zoo opened its Gorilla Forest it is fun to watch them play with each other in their indoor "Playground" or how they interact outside when the zoo keepers toss them fruit it is like you are in the jungle with them.

The Lorikeets are another fun part of the day at the zoo. With a cup of nectar in hand the colorful birds will climb on your shoulder or on your head for a taste of the sweet juice
.

The 4th of July

On the 4th of July the kids and I went to a celebration at my brother John's house. One of every ones favorite activities is the "Gator-car" ride. Just be careful and make sure you come back with all of the kids that you left with.
After a quick rainstorm spiders come on in mass and build webs across the paths in the woods. I still itch from crossing so many webs you should have seen how many spiders were crawling across the hood.

3rd of July

The kids and I went to the Great Lawn for the 4th of July celebration.
We had a great time.
